The error limits (Accuracy and Coefficient of Variation) mentioned above are in accordance
with the nominal capacity (or maximum volume) indicated on the instrument. These are obtained by using the instrument with distilled water at equilibrium, the ambient temperature of 20 °C while operating it smoothly and steadily. The error limits are in accordance with DIN EN ISO 8655-5.

What our Customers are saying

Purging or priming is performed to remove the air bubbles from the barrel. For priming, gently pull the piston up and then push down rapidly till the piston hits the base. Repeat this procedure for at least five times. If the problem still persists, please check the telescopic or inlet tube fitment.
Microlit dispensers are compatible with a wide range of reagents/chemicals as the materials of the wetted components of the dispenser (PTFE, Borosilicate glass, FEP, PP) do not react with the most commonly used reagents. For specific reagent compatibility please refer to our Chemical Compatibility Chart
Yes, the dispensers are fully autoclavable at 121 C for 15-20 min at 15 psi. However, do not put the dispenser in the autoclave without disassembly. Disassemble the piston and shaft from the dispenser before autoclaving. The volume-adjustment knob must be kept in an unlocked position. Lastly, re-calibration is necessary after autoclaving. Please refer to the instruction manual for the correct detailed autoclaving procedure.
Set the ml dispenser at the nominal volume and dispense distilled water at least five times. Measure the dispensed liquid on an analytical or electronic balance. If the mean and CV of the readings is within the acceptable ISO limits (see specs chart), the dispenser is calibrated. If not, please follow the recalibration procedure in the instruction manual.
We recommend rinsing the dispenser with de-ionized or distilled water before and after the use. For detailed maintenance and cleaning of the dispenser, please refer to the product instruction manual.
The dispenser comes with a 5 set of adaptors of the size between 28, 32, 38,40, and 45mm that will allow the dispenser to be mounted on any standard reagent glass bottle.
The minimum length of the telescopic inlet tube of the bottle top dispenser is 170mm and is extendable up to 320 mm.
Yes, to work against the stronger acids, these acids bottle top dispensers are compatible as the wetted components of the dispenser (PTFE, PFA, Borosilicate glass, Zirconia, and FEP) are inert and do not react with them. However, it is strongly advised not to leave the instrument mounted over strong acids as it may cause discoloration or softening of the external material but it will NOT affect its functionality. Please refer to our Chemical Compatibility Chart
Yes, the dispenser can be used as an essential oils dispenser. However, we recommend using the fluids with a maximum viscosity of 500cP.
The dispenser may not be able to aspirate the liquid if the valve ball is stuck. It might happen due to the negative air pressure while air transportation. However, the following quick troubleshoot can easily be performed:
  • Check whether the Inlet tube is fitted firmly. If not, cut off the tube approx. 1cm from above and refix the tube again.
  • Check whether the ball in the valve system is stuck. Rinse the dispenser with distilled water so as to remove the reagent deposit inside the valve mechanism or Insert a thin wire at the inlet stub and push the ball with very little force to release the stuck valve ball.

We adjust the piston so that it is smooth and does not require excessive force to dispense. This may result in auto-dispensing after the liquid is aspirated. However, this is not a problem and will not affect the accuracy of the instrument. It is recommended to immediately dispense the liquid after aspiration.
We recommend maintaining the temperature of the instrument and the reagent between +15 C to +40 C.

Microlit Ultimus is a Bottle Top Dispenser that works on Dual InletTM Technology, Recirculation Valve Technology and Springless ValveTM Technology. The Dual Inlet Technology, patented in the US and EU, enables 4 liquid handling modes – rinsing, dilution, refilling & purging without dismounting the dispenser.

Standard Dispensing: Knob A – Open, Knob B – Closed

In this mode, the dispenser dispenses the liquid normally into the receiver from the bottle it is mounted on.

Purging: Knob A – Closed, Knob B – Closed

In this mode, the liquid is recirculated into the same bottle on which the dispenser is mounted. This process removes the air from the dispenser, without wasting any reagent.

Dilution/Rinsing/Second Liquid Dispensing: Knob A – Open, Knob B – Open

In this mode, the liquid from a second source can be dispensed into the receiver. The second liquid can be distilled water, thus allowing the user to rinse the instrument without dismounting it or dilute the reagent within the receiver.

Bottle Refilling: Knob A – Closed, Knob B – Open

In this mode, the liquid from a second source can be used to refill the bottle, without dismounting the dispenser.

Designed with ergonomics and intuitive handling in mind, it offers excellent chemical compatibility and enables the achievement of precision in practical laboratory environments. Ultimus also features two product innovations: EasyKnob™ and FlexiNozzle™ that enhance its usability.
