The error limits (Accuracy and Coefficient of Variation) mentioned above are in accordance with the nominal capacity (or maximum volume) indicated on the instrument. These are obtained by using the instrument with distilled water at equilibrium, the ambient temperature of 20 °C while operating it smoothly and steadily. The error limits are in accordance with DIN EN ISO 8655-2.

What our Customers are saying

Microlit micropipettes have a universal tip and are compatible with standard universal-fit tips. However, we recommend using Microlit ProTips for the best results.
The pipette is fully autoclavable at 121 C for 15-20 mins at 15 psi.
All pipettes are calibrated as per the ISO 8655 norms, which confirms the accuracy and precision of the liquid handling instruments. However, it is suggested to re-calibrate or get your pipette once in 6 months if it is used regularly.
Set the pipette at the nominal volume and dispense distilled water at least five times. Measure the dispensed liquid on an analytical or electronic balance. If the mean and CV of the readings is within the acceptable ISO limits (see specs chart), the pipette is calibrated. If not, please follow the recalibration procedure in the instruction manual.
Yes, the pipette is supplied with few sample tips only. However, Microlit ProTips are available in racked, reloads, and bulk packaging for additional purchases.
As per the ISO 8655, it is recommended to get your pipette checked annually. However, based on the usage the pipettes can be re-checked every 3 or 6 months.
It is a good practice to pre-rinse the tip, especially while working with the liquids with high vapor pressure, and every time the tip is changed or the volume of the pipette is changed. Pre-rinsing reduces the capillary effect in low volume pipettes and it neutralizes the temperature of the tip with the sample in high volume pipette tips. Thereby, increasing the chances of the accuracy of an experiment.
The best technique for pipetting any viscous/foaming liquid is the Reverse Pipetting technique. To start with, set the desired volume and depress the plunger till the SECOND step. Immerse the tip inside the liquid and slowly release the plunger. Depress the plunger till the FIRST step only to get the desired volume. The residual (blow-out) volume is discarded. For different pipetting technique, please refer to the instruction manual.
Use of low retention tips is suggested while working with detergents, foaming liquids as well as viscous solutions. Due to its hydrophobicity and low adhesion property, the surface contact between the tip and liquid is less. Thereby, reducing the loss of valuable reagents. Please find Microlit ProTip™ low retention tips in the Tips section.
The design of 5ml and 10ml tip cones is different for each manufacturer and so universal-fit tips will not work. To ensure compatibility, please refer to Microlit ProTip™ low retention tips in the Tips section.
